THE HISTORIC OLIVE CHAPEL 

Our mission is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ’s liberating gospel through witness and service. Our Motto “We are the house of hope”!   Our vital work is a spiritual adventure based in John Wesley’s Means of Grace. We were not to be idle waiting to experience grace but must engage in consistent practices whereby God works invisibly in us to bring us into a deeper connection with God.

 

The Means of Grace can be divided into Works of Piety and the Works of Mercy. 

WORKS OF PIETY - Individual Practices (reading, meditating and studying the scriptures, etc.) & Communal Practices (regularly share in the sacraments, fellowship, etc.) 

WORKS OF MERCY - Individual Practices (doing good works, giving generously to others, etc.) & Communal Practices (seeking justice, ending oppression and discrimination, etc.)

We value the importance of family and realize that family is more than just being related by blood or sharing the same last name. We hold friendship in high regard and appreciate the uniqe talents/gifts/abilities of others. We are grateful for God's amazing grace and make every effort to show that same grace to others.
